Council Meetings, Members, and Citizen Engagement

The Springfield City Council holds two regular meetings each month. A Workshop Meeting is held on the 1st Wednesday of each month and is dedicated to discussion, planning, and information sharing; no formal action or voting takes place at this meeting.

Regular Council Meetings, where official business and voting occur, are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Meetings are held at 5:00pm at the Springfield Area Community Center, unless otherwise noted.

Citizen's Forum Policy

The purpose of a Citizen's Forum is to provide residents an opportunity to present their views, concerns, and feedback to the City Council in an organized manner.

Citizen's Forum Policy -  General Guidelines 

Request to Speak:

Written request must be submitted to the City Clerk at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled meeting and must contain full name, address, topic of discussion.

Meeting Participation Guideline

  • Respectful Feedback: Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
  • No Action on New Request: Any new requests will not be acted upon during the same meeting it was presented.
  • Single SpokespersonIf a group of individuals or several members of an organization wish to speak on the same topic, the Clerk will request that they select one spokesperson to represent their collective view.
  • TIME LIMIT: Individuals will be allocated 2 minutes, and a spokesperson will be allocated 4 minutes.
