Up to $200,000. Our Business Loans target several key industries: manufacturing, technology, local foods, agriculture and health care. Our Business Loan Program works in partnership with local lending institutions, economic development organizations and government agencies to help “fill the gap” between available and necessary financial resources.
Since inception, part of SMIF’s mission has been to catalyze entrepreneurial activity within our region. The Small Business Development Center provides the expertise and guidance that every business owner needs to flourish in today’s competitive economy. We are funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and regional support partners, which allows us to provide professional services at no cost.
We offer one-on-one, confidential consulting to established businesses and start-ups. We also help to find and secure the capital you need to operate and expand. Finally, we offer an array of training sessions at no cost or nominal cost.

SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. Since 1964, we have provided education and mentorship to more than 11 million entrepreneurs.
SCORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Thanks to this generous support from the SBA and because of the selfless contributions of our more than 10,000 dedicated volunteers, we are able to deliver most of our offerings at no cost.
Region Nine administers a Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to assist existing businesses, as well as new entrepreneurs, in securing financing they are otherwise unable to secure through traditional channels. The primary goal of the program is to create new jobs, or retain existing jobs, in the region. Preference is given to businesses that will add full-time skilled or semi-skilled positions. The source of funding is the Federal Economic Development Administration (EDA). Some specific guidelines may apply. Region Nine welcomes partnering with other lenders to assist local businesses to succeed and thrive.
